Diamond Cutting
MGS offer the full diamond cutting service. We use special diamond pads to cut away the top layer of the surface of the stone, normally 1.5 - 2mm. On a new floor we will offer to grout with a raised finish so that when cut, we not only remove all lips but we bring the grout flush with the top of the stone. This finish is like velvet and a good colour matched grout will look almost seamless against the finished tiles.
On existing floors the diamond cutting process strips the floor of all exiting sealers, dirt and grit along with removing any unsightly scratches. We then polish the stone back up to the desired grade finish. In residential properties we finish the stone with several coats of specialist stone sealer.
In commercial properties on certain high polished finishes we use a special liquid with the large machine to not only seal but to provide an anti slip finish.
Professional Chemical Cleaning
MGS offer a professional cleaning service for any type of property. Our free quotation service allows us to tailor each project to the client's request.
We offer a special none abrasive chemical cleaning using large machines which strip all the old sealer, grease and dirt. This revives the original colour after which we can seal the stone thoroughly ready for client hand over. We provide all O&M's and offer a detailed walk through on how to care for the stone in the future.
Maintenance Contracts
It’s important natural stone floors are cleaned professionally and resealed with stone sealer to keep their colours true and protected. We understand communal areas or office lobbies require specialised cleaning varying on the type, size, location and foot traffic.
We not only offer diamond cutting and professional chemical cleaning but we offer a more basic monthly or quarterly clean down using chemicals designed just for your stone. All maintenance contracts are bespoke to the client to make sure the client and the stone get the most appropriate care.

Insurance Works
We work with the loss adjusters, structural surveyors and main contractors to ensure any insurance related restoration works keep within budget and time-frames.
We adhere to regular meetings, site inspections and health and safety. We give detailed protection and stone care guidance. We also provide service maintenance contracts after completion.
Main Contractor Works
While working with main contractors on large sites we operate with our own project managers and onsite managers to ensure we comply with all H&S producing risk assessments and adhering to site safety and four or five point PPE.
We are always keeping in contact with the main contractor updating them of our progress and ensuring we do everything possible to complete works at a high quality, efficiency and safely.
Health and Safety
We take our health and safety very seriously. All our onsite managers are Lv 3 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace and first aid at work trained and certified.
We complete all RAMS and COSHH in advance of any project.
We perform internal random onsite inspections making sure all of our team members comply with your and our client and own H&S policy.
Report Assessment Writing
​We can perform written reports and assessments on damaged floors for the purpose of planning permission on grade listed buildings.
Examples of our work include the famous Serpentine Bar and Kitchen situated at the river's edge inside the grounds of Hyde Park, London where we produced a report of the current Terrazzo floor. The report was created for The Royal Parks for the purpose of planning consent.
We have also created a visual inspection report for Terrazzo restoration of the Turkish Spa rooms situated inside the Mount Baths Northampton.
Aftercare
Floor Protection -
MGS do not offer a floor protection service but can give details on what to use and how to protect the floors from dirt and foreign objects while other tradesmen finish. The key is to use a breathable form of protection so any moisture in the stone can safely evaporate off. The wrong type of protection can cause the stone to sweat and stain or transfer cordex ridge lines into the surface of the stone.

Aftercare Service
We provide all of our clients with O&M Manuals to keep their stone looking as new as possible for as long as possible. We are always happy to give a walk-through on how to care for the stone for the future. We also offer final clean down services with our large floor cleaning machines before the final finish cleaning teams attend site. MGS also offer detailed maintenance contracts which are bespoke tailored for each project.
